latent memory
explore and you shall discover
stared at the sun too long
you said i could have it all
but darkness takes the softer fall.
feels like i’m slowing down.
the backlights, the keys i pound
another flare forgets you now.
(and i cannot recall the day)
(only silhouettes remain)
heat maps and burning stoves
crush like volcanoes
and stars breathe and cancer grows.
push past your stranded hair
knots, splits and rays won’t dare
parse apart my empty stare.
(and i cannot recall the crime)
(only silence is in my eyes)
i am going blind.
